THOUSANDS TURN UP TO LISTEN TO PRESIDENT HICHILEMA IN WESTERN PROVINCE

President Hakainde Hichilema has urged the people of Kaoma district in Western Province to vote for all the United Party for National Development (UPND) candidates in order for his administration to continue developing the area and country at large.

President Hichilema noted that voting for the opposition is denying the much needed social and economic development which the country needs.

The Head of State was speaking today in Kaoma when he addressed a mammoth rally held at the Kaoma Youth Resource centre grounds.

President Hichilema outlined some of the developments achieved under his administration such as employment of over 45,000 teachers, recruitment of thousands of health workers and inclusion of the aged under the Social Cash Transfer.

Others are bursaries under the education sector and the signing into law of the free education policy and the 20 percent NAPSA partial withdrawal for workers in the public service.

President Hichilema has since reassured Zambia of his administration’s commitment to continue reducing the cost of living as evidenced by the reduction in fuel pump prices.

“I urge you all to vote for UPND again for continued development. As a government, we are making a lot of progress on further lowering the cost of living, just two days ago, we reduced the price of diesel from K32 to K28,” he said.

President Hichilema further appealed to the electorate not to vote for independent candidates but instead vote for UPND candidates because independents allegedly do not have his blessings.

Speaking at the same event, UPND Alliance Chairperson, Charles Milupi, highlighted the development happening in the road sector in the country, including in Kaoma district.

Mr Milupi said the expansion, rehabilitation and construction of roads across the country is evidence that President Hichilema’s administration has a vision to interlink Zambia with other countries.

He added that President Hichilema wants to open Zambia to other countries for investment, which will in turn improve livelihoods.
