Minister of Justice Princess Kasune has inducted into office with solemnity the National Prosecution Authority (NPA) Board highlighting the importance of the board’s role in aligning the institution’s vision, policy, and mandate.
Ms Kasune says that the separation of roles is not a dilution of authority, but it is rather strengthening of institutional focus which allows the Director of Public Prosecutions to remain singularly devoted to the Prosecutorial function
“The NPA has operated without a board for four years, which has hindered its progress and ability to function at its full potential,” she said.
Speaking during the Inauguration ceremony in Lusaka district today, the Minister noted that the reconstitution of the board is a demonstration of the government’s commitment to the rule of law and cooperation.
