CHILANGA LAUNCHES HIV PREVENTION INJECTION LENACAPAVIR

THE Ministry of Health in Chilanga District has started administering the Human Immunodeficiency Virus (HIV) prevention injectable drug, Lenacapavir (LEN), aimed at preventing individuals from contracting the virus.

University Teaching Hospital (UTH) HIV/AIDS programme Pharmacist and Public Health Specialist, Anita Moyo explains that the drug is administered every six months and provides highly effective, long-acting protection for individuals at high risk of acquiring HIV.

She was speaking during a five-day training workshop on pre and post exposure prophylaxis (PrEP and PEP) Provider for Community Based Volunteers.
