MULYATA COMMISSIONS K364,990 MOTHERS’ SHELTER IN CHAISA

LUSAKA Province Minister Sheal Mulyata has commissioned a mothers’ shelter at Chaisa Health Centre in Mandevu Constituency valued at K364,990.78.

Ms Mulyata described the facility funded by the Zambia Industrial Commercial Bank (ZICB) as a symbol of progress and shared responsibility, emphasising its importance in providing a safe and dignified space for expectant mothers.

The Minister reaffirmed government’s commitment to partnering with the private sector in delivering essential services and urged other corporate institutions to emulate ZICB’s dedication to uplifting communities and supporting national development goals.

“This initiative aligns with the government’s agenda which prioritises the construction of mothers’ shelters and maternity annexes across the country. This approach aims to bring healthcare services closer to communities and ensure that no woman loses her life during childbirth,” said Ms Mulyata.

Mandevu Member of Parliament, Christopher Shakafuswa said the newly constructed facility was expected to serve as a lifeline for mothers by providing comfort, safety, and care.

ZICB Chief Risk Officer, Thulani Muchiya reaffirmed the bank’s commitment to working with government to ensure the wellbeing of citizens.
