24-YEAR-OLD ARRESTED FOR ALLEGEDLY STEALING 10 KILOGRAMS OF FERTILISER 

A 24-year-old man of Chisamba District of Central Province has appeared before the Magistrate Court for allegedly stealing 10 kilograms of fertiliser worth K300 from his employer.

Appearing before Resident Magistrate Susan Magalashi, was Agripa Chisupa of Kachangwa area, who pleaded not guilty to a charge of theft.

Chisupa is charged with one count of theft by servant.

Particulars of the offense allege that between February and March 17, 2026, Chisupa, while employed as a general worker by Patrick Banda, stole 10 kilograms of fertiliser valued at K300, the property of his employer.

According to the complainant, he interrogated the accused after one of his workers reported that 10 kilograms of the commodity was stolen.

The complainant claimed that the accused confessed to stealing two medas, approximately 10 kilograms of fertiliser, stating he sold it to fund his daughter’s clinic visit.

Another witness, Esther Lupiya, told the court that the accused and an accomplice provided two medas of fertiliser for selling at K150, adding that she received a K30 commission from the sale.

The accused is remanded in custody.
