ATTORNEY General Mulilo Kabesha has officially launched the Money Laundering and Terrorism Financing National Risk Assessment Report 2025, in a move aimed at reinforcing Zambia’s efforts to combat financial crime.
Speaking at the launch in Lusaka today, Mr Kabesha reiterated the government’s resolve to tackle money laundering, terrorism financing and related offences such as corruption and tax evasion.
Mr Kabesha explained that the assessment will play a vital role in shaping policy, strengthening regulatory systems, and improving enforcement mechanisms among key institutions.
He added that the report’s findings will enable government and stakeholders to gain deeper insight into how illicit financial flows operate both locally and across borders.
Mr Kabesha stressed that addressing money laundering and terrorist financing goes beyond legal compliance, noting that it is crucial for sustaining investor confidence, preserving the integrity of the financial sector, and promoting long-term economic growth.
