PRESIDENT HICHILEMA ARRIVES IN NAKONDE FOR BORDER COMMISSIONING

PRESIDENT Hakainde Hichilema has arrived in Nakonde District in Muchinga Province ahead of the commissioning of the Nakonde-Tunduma One Stop Border Post (OSBP).

President Hichilema’s plane touched down at Nakonde Secondary School grounds at exactly 10:26 hours.

Upon arrival the President addressed Nakonde residents who gathered to welcome him.

And in his address President Hichilema thanked residents for supporting government in its implementation of government projects.

He said the support by the Zambian citizens should not be taken for granted saying government cannot work alone in bringing development closer to the people.

“Government cares for you and thank you for your support,” he said.

And speaking earlier, Muchinga Province United Party for National Development (UPND) Provincial Chairperson Beddah Kabombo said the entire UPND in Muchinga Province and other political parties have endorsed President Hakainde Hichilema in the forthcoming general election.

And Minister of Infrastructure and Urban Development Charles Milupi said the Nakonde One Stop Border Post will improve the trade between countries among others.

Meanwhile, Muchinga Province Minister Njavwa Simutowe said  the visit by the Republican President to the province to commission the Border was  a great milestone that comes with a lot of benefits to the Zambian and South African countries.
