Chama,12, June,2025, ZANIS —Chama District Commissioner, Yobe Goma, says he is pleased with the progress made in upgrading roads in Chama District using the Constituency Development Fund (CDF).

ZANIS reports that Mr Goma stated that the  government’s goal is to connect all wards in the district with a good road network before the 2026 general elections.

He said In Chama North Constituency, works have commenced on the Kambombo-Sitwe road, and upon completion, the government will proceed with upgrading other roads, including Mwimba, Katangalinga-Kapembe, Chibale-Kabobe, and Mulilo roads.

Mr Goma said that roads in the Central Business District (CBD), particularly in Makeni area, will also be worked on.

Additionally, Mr Goma said that in Chama South Constituency, the government has started upgrading the Chikwa-Chasato road, which has made significant progress.

Other roads slated for upgrade in Chama South include the Muyukwa-Kasela road, among others.

The District Commissioner also noted that the government has also begun working on the crossing points in Chama South.
