GOVERNMENT ENGAGES STAKEHOLDERS OVER DISPLACED KALINGALINGA SMEs.
The Ministry of Small and Medium Enterprise Development says consultations are underway to address the concerns of small and medium enterprises displaced by the ongoing infrastructure development in Kalingalinga Township.
Ministry of Small and Medium Enterprise Development Permanent Secretary Subeta Mutelo said the Ministry is working with local authorities and other partners to ensure affected traders are considered in the redevelopment process.
Ms. Mutelo said government remains committed to safeguarding the interests of small-scale entrepreneurs whose businesses have been disrupted.
“As government, we are mindful that SMEs are a backbone of our economy. We are currently engaging stakeholders to ensure that displaced traders are identified and supported through appropriate interventions,” she said.
