RURAL SOLWEZI SCHOOLS RECEIVE DIGITAL LEARNING BOOST.

Three schools in Chief Kapijimpanga’s chiefdom in Solwezi District are set to benefit from portable touch‑screen computers donated by Bresmar Building Materials (BBM) in partnership with Mwabu, as part of efforts to advance digital transformation in rural areas.

BBM Director Brenda Kunda said 22 teachers from Kapijimpanga, Kijilamatambo and Kajoba primary schools have already been trained in the use of the devices, with practical sessions to follow.

She explained that the organisation has procured 15 touch‑screen computers, which will be distributed equally among the three schools, with each receiving five.

Ms. Kunda added that each device will be accompanied by a solar‑powered battery to ensure reliable internet connectivity, as well as a projector to support interactive learning.

She said the initiative is a three‑year pilot project aimed at assessing the impact of digital tools on teaching and learning in rural communities.

Meanwhile, Solwezi District Resource Centre coordinator Jennet Lungu, one of the training participants, said the programme will greatly benefit rural learners by enabling them to visualise lessons through digital tools and gain broader understanding of various topics.
