END MALARIA BICYCLE SWEET RACE LAUNCHED.

The End Malaria Council (EMC) has called on Zambia’s corporate sector to invest in the fight against malaria, emphasising that such investments are crucial for the country’s human capital, economic growth, and future prosperity.

End Malaria Fund and Resource Mobilisation Committee Chairperson Peter Cottan, urged the corporate community and philanthropic partners to unite in the urgent and transformative cause meant to eliminate Malaria.

Mr Cottan made the appeal during a media briefing today, where he announced the launch of the “End Malaria Bicycle Sweet Race,” a cycling event aimed at mobilising resources to support malaria elimination efforts nationwide.

Mr Cottan noted that the race is targeting to raise K2 million, which will be allocated towards malaria eradication initiatives.

The event is sponsored by Zambia Sugar, with a contribution of over K300,000.

Meanwhile, EMC Chairperson of Communication and Advocacy, Malcolm Chabala, noted that the Bicycle Sweet Race, scheduled to take place on March 28, 2026, is part of a broader strategy to support the government’s efforts to eliminate malaria completely.
