CLERGYMAN EXTOLS PRESIDENT HICHILEMA’S SONA SPEECH

National Day of Prayer Chairperson Robert Sihubwa, says President Hakainde Hichilema’s speech to parliament last week is inspiring as it gives hope about economic stability, unity, and development for Zambia.

Father Sihubwa says President Hichilema should be supported by the church as well as all well-meaning Zambians.

Last week, President Hichilema addressed the nation in Parliament on the progress made in the application of values and principles.

Fr. Sihubwa, who highlighted achievements in free education, health, corruption, and the mining sector scored by President Hichilema’s administration, called for patience and moral discipline as the country pursues long‑term development.

The Lusaka-based clergyman said this last evening on ZNBC’s Sunday Interview programme.

Fr. Sihubwa further implored the church to pray for the Head of State as well as government officials for guidance and wisdom ahead of the August general elections.

He noted that the government’s free‑education initiative is a tangible expression of national values.

“Government should be commended on free education that is transforming lives. The policy reflects commitments to tackling human dignity, equity, social justice, equality, and non‑discrimination,” he said.
