Kasempa District Commissioner Benson Malipenga has implored residents to actively participate in the upcoming nationwide constituency delimitation consultations in a bid to achieve a citizen-driven delimitation.

Mr Malipenga urged Kasempa residents to attend next week’s stakeholder consultations and make their submissions so that the views can be captured.

He said this in an interview in Kasempa.

“This process is very important to everyone, so I am calling upon all Kasempa residents to come at best ways for the meeting regarding delimitation of constituencies as it calls for development in our District,” Mr Malipenga added.

He disclosed that the delimitation process placed the responsibility of determining constituency boundaries and names in the hands of citizens through consultation.

Mr Malipenga further disclosed that the release of the delimitation roadmap marked an important step towards transparency and adherence to constitutional provisions.

“The delimitation roadmap by Electoral Commission of Zambia shows that the process is transparent and adheres to constitutional provisions,” He added.
