Stakeholders in Ndola district on the Copperbelt province have commended President Hakainde Hichilema for handling with maturity the dialogue process with the Oasis Forum.
Beautiful Gates of Zambia Executive Director Bill Kapinga says the President’s willingness to engage in dialogue with the Oasis Forum to hear their concerns is a great move.
Speaking during a Media briefing in Ndola, Mr Kapinga said it is important for the President to meet with civil society organizations, including those supporting the amendments, in order to hear their different views and perspectives.
And the Executive Director added that there is also need for delimitation in most parts of the constituencies, to enhance social service delivery and development in vast constituencies such as Kasempa and Kanchibiya.
He said his organisation is supporting the government’s proposal to divide these constituencies, in order to enhance representation and development.
On Friday, November 28, 2025, President Hakainde Hichilema met with members from the Oasis Forum where he reiterated that dialogue remains the most civilised and effective tool for building consensus, especially on matters of national importance, adding that he recognises the existence of divergent views, hence the need to engage through proper channels in order to address concerns constructively.
The Oasis Forum met the President at State House to discuss concerns surrounding Constitution Amendment Bill No. 7 of 2025.
