The Electoral Commission of Zambia (ECZ) has extended the 2025 Mass Voter Registration exercise by three days.

The extension will run from Thursday, 27 November, to Saturday, 29 November 2025.

Initially, the registration exercise was scheduled to end today, Wednesday, 26 November 2025.

Speaking during a press briefing at the ECZ Head Office, ECZ Chairperson Mwangala Zaloumis said the Commission had been overwhelmed by reports from various provinces, including Lusaka.

“Having taken into account the field reports, the observed progress, and the remaining number of unregistered eligible citizens, the Commission has decided to extend the voter registration period by three days,” she said.

Mrs Zaloumis said that the Commission does not anticipate any further extension beyond 29 November 2025 and urged all unregistered citizens to take advantage of the additional days.

“The Commission wishes to inform the nation that this three-day extension has been granted with full consideration of the 2026 General Election Roadmap,” she added

ZANIS reports that this marks the second extension of the Mass Voter Registration exercise, which began on 13 October 2025 and had initially been scheduled to conclude today.
