Police on the Copperbelt Province have identified the body that was found in a black trunk with missing body parts of a 34-year-old Fred Kapuku Junior, a medical student at Copperbelt University.

 

Copperbelt Province Police Commanding Officer, Pathias Siandenge in a statement made available to ZANIS said Fred was last seen on Saturday, August 16, 2025, driving his Toyota Mark X black in color, which is now missing.

 

Mr Siadenge said Fred’s cell phone is also missing.

 

He said the police are actively investigating the case, and working to apprehend the culprits.

 

According to Police Commanding Officer facts of the case are that on August 18,2025 in the morning at around 06.00 hours, the community of Chiminwa area in Lima Posa Ward discovered a black trunk along Jonken road stuffed with a body of a human being inside.

 

“A report was immediately made to their ward councilor Luckson Filongwe who also made a report to the police,” he said.

 

Mr Siandenge said upon receiving the report, the police rushed to the scene along Jonken road which is off Ndola Kitwe Dual Carriage Way that demarcates Kitwe and Luanshya.

 

He said at the scene, police observed a black trunk on the road which was closed adding that upon opening it, a body of a male person was found stuffed in the same trunk.

 

“The body had no head, and both legs had been cut off on the lower limbs.

 

The cuts looked so fresh and some burns were visibly seen on the chest”, he said.

 

Mr Siandenge said while still at the scene, information from Ndola Hillcrest Police was received that they found two human legs and a head near Hillcrest Clinic in Ndola.

 

The body was then taken to Kitwe Central Teaching Hospital Mortuary.
